Taylor Burgh

Operations Manager

Taylor Burgh grew up in the suburbs of Connecticut. Her curiosity about the natural world led her to pursue a degree in ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of Connecticut in 2009. Burgh has worked with kids since the age of 16 and has a passion for engaging young minds. Eventually, she combined her two passions and has been working in nonprofit education ever since. Since moving to Alaska in 2015, Burgh has filled a range of science education positions. She worked at Bear Valley Communication Association and Renewable Energy Alaska Project. At Alaska Resource Education, she was first a STEM educator before transitioning to assistant program director. She also went back to school and received an occupational endorsement in sustainable energy from the University of Alaska, as well as a master’s of science degree in STEM education from the University of Iowa. Burgh is passionate not only about the natural world, but humankind's role in it, and learning about ways we can live and use our resources sustainably and with longevity. She has been able to explore these topics in her role at ARE and loves sharing this knowledge with students and teachers across the state of Alaska.
