AK Career Externship

 

AK Career Explore is an innovative initiative that connects high school students with careers in Alaska’s diverse natural resource industries. AK Career Explore provides high school students with first-hand exposure to a wide range of careers through in-person connections and on-site learning opportunities. The program accepts eight students from the Anchorage School District and Anchorage-based Lower Kuskokwim residential school, Kusilvak Career Academy.

The students attend weekly site visits with participating companies. These visits are designed to boost their employability skills and help them develop a professional portfolio. The goal is to empower students to make informed decisions about their future, while also exposing them to careers they never knew existed.
