Beki Toussaint

Program Director

Beki Toussaint moved to Alaska in 2008 after completing a dual degree in natural science and education from Colorado State University, prior to teaching science and math at a Fort Collins High School. While in Alaska, Toussaint has worked as an environmental scientist for an engineering firm and completed a master’s in environmental science from Alaska Pacific University. At ARE, Toussaint is able to combine her passion for teaching with her knowledge and experience from consulting. Since joining ARE in 2012, Toussaint has spent her time educating students and teachers across Alaska about the state’s natural resources. She’s developed new curriculum and found countless ways to help the next generation learn about the importance of Alaska’s resources. She helps students connect the dots between the resources, how they impact our economy and the careers available in Alaska. Additionally, she is the lead instructor for staff training and the Powerful Opportunities for Women (POWR) class.
